Playa del Rey Condos

Playa del Rey is just south of the Ballona Wetlands and Ballona Creek and the community name derives from Spanish for "beach of the king". Playa del Rey sits beneath the Westchester bluffs right on the water, with the northern most beach area being famous for it's surfing back in the 60's, earning the nickname that remains today: "Toes Beach".

The areas along the beach are not as commercial as many stretches of Venice Beach, it's famous northern neighbor, giving the town a quiet, friendly small town feel. Less visible than Venice Beach which has a pier, concessions and tourists coming out of every nook and cranny, the many area stores and restaurants are mostly geared towards locals and surf or beach themes. With a beautiful Lagoon surrounded by a park and overlooked by many condos, the local scenery is a surprise to many first time visitors. Due to the limited access from the north or west...unless you are swimming, this community enjoys a more close-knit feel than any other beach front area in the Los Angeles area. This also equates to less crime than one might normally expect for such an urban beach area.

With a short walk to the long beautiful beach, or to the south side of Marina del Rey, Play a del Rey is one of the most sought after locations along the beach in all of southern California. Lagoon or Beach front Condominiums and the ultimate in southern California beach living...Playa del Rey...the beach of the king.
